What is a custom cable and wire harness assembly?

A custom cable assembly or wire harness is a completed, ready-to-install cable or harness built to your specification. It incorporates the specified wires, connectors, terminals, protection, identification and other approved components.

Complete Wiring designs and manufactures custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses at our Capalaba facility in Brisbane. Every assembly is individually tested before it leaves our floor.

Built for applications where reliability matters

Our customers install cable assemblies and wire harnesses into specialist equipment, machinery, control systems and communications infrastructure across mining, defence, agriculture and automation, transport, and telecommunications applications. In these applications, a failed connection means downtime, rework or risk.

That is why we build every assembly around the application. We work from your drawings, specifications, samples or requirements, and select components to suit the electrical, mechanical and environmental demands of the job.

What we manufacture

  • Custom cable assemblies — completed assemblies incorporating specified wires, connectors, terminals, protection and identification.
  • Custom wire harnesses — bundled, routed and secured wiring looms built to your specification and tested to the same standard as our cable assemblies.
  • Interconnect assemblies — cable-to-cable and cable-to-equipment configurations for specialist applications.
  • Wiring systems — multiple assemblies prepared as part of a coordinated wiring requirement.
  • Kitting and packing — ready-to-use kits and grouped components supplied to your specification, saving the time and resources of sourcing, storing and managing large quantities of components yourself, and helping streamline your production and assembly.

Suitable for prototypes and product development, small-batch production, specialist equipment, complex replacement or upgrade projects, and repeat builds supported by approved documentation, with capacity to scale from one-off prototypes through to larger production runs.

Every assembly individually tested

Testing is not a sample check at Complete Wiring. Every production item passes through 100% unit testing: continuity, insulation and computer-controlled testing (CableEye) as defined for the job.

Results are recorded, and required production and test records are retained. You receive assemblies that are ready to install, with documentation to prove it.
